Reactivity in confined space

MOF for catalysis

The incorporation of transition metal catalysts or electrocatalysts in the confined space of the cavities of porous materials like Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOF) is predicted to lead to an improvement of their performances both in terms of stability and activity. As a first result in this field, we reported the first example of encapsulation of a [NiFe] hydrogenase mimic into a MOF: the obtained hybrid material retains the electrocatalytic properties of NiFe for H+ reduction to H2.
