Photochemistry

Our group is mainly focused on coordination photochemistry. Inspired by the electron cascade occuring in plants and responsible for photosynthesis, we have built charge separation systems constructed solely around transition metal complexes that can produce photocurrent when grafted on a surface. Other works aim at funneling the energy of the excited state towards catalytic centers able to perform valuable reactions. 

In addition to using well known photosensitizers, we also design new ligands and complexes with targeted properties. More recently, we started exploring solid state luminescence for future applications in LEDs and lighting.
