JENNIFER KELLY MOLLOY

I am a CNRS researcher recruited in 2017 in section 12. 

In 2011, I obtained my Ph.D. in chemistry at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland under the supervision of Prof. Thorrfinnur Gunnlaugsson. My thesis involved the synthesis and characterisation of novel lanthanide complexes for detection of analytes and  as MRI contrast agents.  I then travelled to Bologna, Italy where I I did my post-doc at the University of Bologna with Prof. Paola Ceroni on the photochemical investigation of supramolecular systems and nanomaterials. In 2014 I then moved to Grenoble to start a postdoc with Prof. Marinella Mazzanti and Dr. Daniel Imbert on the functionnalisation of luminescent quantum dots with lanthanide complexes to form NIR emitting nanomaterials. In 2016 I obtained an ATER position in the Université Grenoble Alpes with Prof. Fabrice Thomas where i developed copper complexes to catalyse the oxygen reduction reaction.

In 2011 I obtained my CNRS position in the CIRe Inorganic Redox Chemistry) team at the Department of Molecular Chemistry, Université Grenoble Alpes.  

My research interests focus on redox active lanthanide complexes for applications in optical imaging and magnetic resonance imaging. 

I am actively involved in scientific mediation; I am currently secretary for the association Chimie & Société AuRA.
