After chemistry and biological studies at the University Joseph Fourier (Grenoble), I received a PhD thesis in 1996. I worked on the synthesis of fluorescent probes to assess apurinic sites in DNA in Prof Jean Lhomme laboratory. From 1997 I performed postdoctoral research at the University of Virginia (Charlottesville, USA). I worked on the syntheses and biological studies of bleomycin derivatives in Professor Sidney Hecht laboratory. Then, I got a position at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in 1999 at the Département de Chimie Moléculaire (UMR 5250) in Grenoble. I am currently working in the field of peptides, notably in the design, the synthesis and the characterization of large biomolecular systems for biological applications including targeted delivery of fluorescent probes and/or drugs to tumour (more info). In this context, I develop chemical methodologies to construct such multifunctional compounds via the use of orthogonal chemoselective ligations (more info).
Since 2021, I am the director of the Department of Molecular Chemistry and the team leader of I2BM team (more info).
