Aptamer/target recognition:
The detection of low molecular weight (LMW) molecules remains a challenge in the case of surface-sensitive analytical techniques. Our group has developed an expertise in the design of new aptasensors  allowing the recognition of LMW molecules by using quartz crystal microbalance (QCM-D), surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and  biolayer interferometry (BLI).
The sensing layer consists of a controlled density of aptamers synthetized by our colleagues of the "SOCA” group (more info) and immobilized on a 2D functionalized surface which provides a high sensitivity to the sensor. In spite of the low molecular weight of the target molecule, significant signals are recorded upon its recognition by the aptamer layer. G-quadruplex/ligand recognition:
The kinetic and thermodynamic constants of the interaction between G-quadruplex DNA and ligands are measured by SPR or BLI. With our colleagues of the "SOCA” group (more info) we analyze the interactions between constrained G4 or G3 topologies and G4-ligands such as PhenDC3, PDS, TMPyP4, Braco-19:

In collaboration with different national or international teams (UCLouvain, Intistut Curie, …), we also characterize the interaction between G-quadruplex DNA and the ligands they developed such as photoreactive Ruthenium or Iridium complex (more info) (Chem. Eur. J 2019), NMM (PCCP 2020), porphyrins (Langmuir 2018), and salphens (Inorg. Chem. 2014)
