Room-Temperature Characterization of a Mixed-Valent u-Hydroxodicopper(II,III) Complex.
Bis($μ$-hydroxo)dicopper(II,II) bearing a naphthyridine-based ligand {\{}(2,7-bis(dipyridyl)methyl)-1,8-naphthyridine{\}} was synthesized and characterized in the solid state and soln. Cyclic voltammetry at room temp. displays a reversible redox system that corresponds to the monoelectronic oxidn. of the complex. Spectroscopic and time-resolved spectroelectrochem. data coupled to theor. results support the formation of a charge-localized mixed-valent CuII,III2 species. [on SciFinder(R)]
