A review. This review compiles the different possible transformations using environmentally-benign chiral hypervalent iodine reagents and catalysts. Herein is presented an overview of asym. oxidn. of sulfides to sulfoxides, oxidn. of alkenes, alpha-functionalization of carbonyl compds. and dearomatization reactions.
