Molecular wire type behavior of polycationic multinuclear rack-type RuII complexes of polytopic hydrazone-based ligands.
Splitting of the peripheral metal-based oxidn., which indicates a large coupling between the redox sites, was obtained in polymetallic arrays composed of rack-type complexes contg. 2, 3, 4, or 6 RuII sub-units appended to hydrazone-based mol. strands. The relatively small coupling attenuation parameter calcd. for the metal-based, cationic subunit(s) suggests mol.-wire behavior. [on SciFinder(R)]
